John’s area of expertise is the application of spatial
data and technologies to model, analyze and present environmental
facts. Over the last 17 years, he has implemented multi-department,
multi-organization spatial systems, designed & implemented
numerous applications, and managed spatial data programs
for a number of governments in Canada, Florida and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Wildlands Conservation,
John provided independent consulting services to governments
for data management, program and project management, negotiations,
business plans, policy and legislation, business applications
including technical support (system installs, database
configurations and application designs). He has worked
as a Director or Manager for Sarasota County, Hernando
County, City of Tampa, North Vancouver, BC; has chaired
numerous multi department / multi organization committees
to advance wide spread access to spatial data. His technical
experience includes land surveying, GIS property information
systems, parcels mapping, GIS database development, habitat
and environmental protection, engineering and mitigation,
drainage and public works, planning & land development,
permits and enforcement.
He obtained his MBA from the University of South Florida
and holds a B.Sc. in Geomatics Engineering from the University
of Calgary. AB.
