Education
We design and implement educational and outreach programs on a variety of conservation issues.
Land Protection
We assist local governments to develop funding tools for land preservation, develop and promote county referendums and ordinances, and broker land acquisition agreements between governments, private entities, and property owners.
Stewardship
We develop and implement resource management plans for both publicly and privately-owned preserve and conservation banks.

State working on plan to manage bear population and interaction
After three years of research and study, an eight-member team formed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has completed preliminary work on a statewide bear management plan and is seeking public feedback before finalizing the report.

The draft Florida black bear management plan is open for public comment until the end of August so please let the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) know that you want a bear management plan that emphasizes restoring and protecting bear populations including wildlife corridors for bears.
