Wildland Conservation's first-hand
experience and knowledge of state and local land preservation
policies and practices gives us a unique edge in helping
clients identify and preserve environmentally sensitive
and significant lands.
We have successfully assisted local governments in Florida
in developing funding tools for land preservation and winning
approval of county land conservation referenda and ordinances.
Wildlands Conservation's team of
negotiators has assisted with brokering land acquisitions
across Florida for a variety of clients, including counties,
the Southwest Florida Water Management District and individual
landowners. We have also successfully placed properties
on the state’s Florida
Forever land list of approved preservation projects. As well
as finding tools for land preservation, Wildland Conservation
is an approved monitor for publicly-held conservation easements
and environmental feature documentation.
We also work with
conservation-minded private land owners to identify and implement
the best mechanisms (e.g., fee simple acquisition, conservation
easements) for meeting the land owners’ financial objectives
and protecting the land’s ecological integrity. This
also entails facilitating cost-sharing partnerships with
federal, state, district and local land acquisition, mitigation,
restoration and land management programs.
